Peak Bouldering
Great variety of crags and easy access makes the Peak area the country’s destination for boulderers. The main attractions are the superb and world-famous gritstone edges that stretch from Wimberry in the northwest, through the Eastern Edges and the Central Gritstone, and on to Staffordshire. The bouldering on offer on these is immense and varied, sometimes on the edges themselves, sometimes on the blocks dotted around beneath the crag. Although less popular, there is also some intense and dramatic limestone bouldering in the leafy dales.
The new book will be published in the summer. It is a massive 672 pages packed with up-to-date information on all the best bouldering in the Peak Area. The Rockfax Digital version will be updated at the same time with many additional venues and extra problems. Up to near the time of publication Peak Bouldering will be available for free on Rockfax Digital – just register, no subscription necessary.
Peak Bouldering is the third edition of the Rockfax book. It is a completely new edition that is the latest recipient of the biggest Rockfax ever award – 672 pages covering thousands of problems. The content represents a huge leap forward from the last book and brings the coverage up-to-date doing justice to the pace of development in the area in the last 10 years. The majority of the crags have been re-photographed, there are new maps, stunning new action photos and every problem has been re-assessed based on the feedback received on UKClimbing Logbooks.
Such is the extent of development that the book can’t come close to covering everything and we have focussed on the best and most popular. The Rockfax Digital version has around 20 extra less popular venues, plus lots of extra content on the crags covered. This will be added to as new areas come to light.
Italics crags are digital-only.
