Chamonix Print Guidebook Delayed Until August – App Ready in July

We have encountered a few problems in the finishing stages of the Chamonix guidebook owing to adverse weather in the Alps.

Several crucial crag photographs needed to be retaken and some taken for the first time and our plan was to do this in May or early June. We also had some work to finish on the valley crags. Unfortunately the weather has been so dreadful that there is lots of snow preventing us from getting the mountain crag photos, and we haven’t been able to properly finish off the valley crags because of persistent rain.

Most of the rest of the book is ready to go but we can’t print it until we have all the photos and crag research in place. So the plan now is to go to the printers in July for publication in August.

This is late for the season – many apologies to those who have been anxiously looking forward to this book for their trip in July or early August.

The good news for those who have iOS devices is that we will be able to release a version of the Chamonix guide on the Rockfax App in early July. It will be missing a few crags in the mountains and a few of the valley crags but essentially 95% of the information will be there. Anyone who buys the full App version, or smaller bundles, will get the updated information appropriate to their purchase by the end of August anyway via the automatic updating system.
