A long valley running up from near the head of Ullswater west towards Fairfield. There are some good summer routes but these crags are more frequently used by winter climbers. Conditions a fairly reliable although Hutaple is actually not very high and Scrubby can strip off quickly in cold sunny conditions. Even in the most marginal conditions there is usually something to climb on Hart Crag. There are some classic ice gullies and hard mixed routes on both rock and turf. Parking is available in a lay-by at GR 399144
