Getting Around
The starting points for
approaches to the crags
are all easily reached by
car and the approach
descriptions are written
assuming you have access
to a car.
For those travelling to the
area on public transport a
good number of the crags
can be reached without too
much walking. Maeshafn,
Pot Hole Quarry and The
Devil's Gorge are within
easy walking distance
of buses from Mold. The
lower Eglwyseg Valley
(Trevor Area and Dinbren)
is walkable from Llangollen
in about half an hour. Both
Chester and Shrewsbury
are serviced by fast train
services but trains are less
useful for penetrating the
area more deeply. There
are local trains to Buckley,
Wrexham, Chirk and
Gobowen. Llangollen can
be reached by bus from
Chester or Shrewsbury.
Llanymynech and
Pontesford Rocks can also
be reached by bus from
Shrewsbury.
Buses -
The website

is an excellent place to get a quick idea of links and
times of bus services. The tourist information centres are also useful for travel information.
