Up until 2008 the start of this route,
The Prow
,
Indecent Exposure
and many
derivatives used an old tree to by-pass
the dirty initial wall. This tree was cut
down in July 2008 for no apparent
reason and no-one has ever owned up
to it. Since then the lower wall has been
climbed by various alternative starts
but the climbing is hard and the rock is
filthy for much of the time - significantly
longer than the rest of the crag. This
senseless action has sadly tainted
some of the best sport routes on Peak
Limestone which, although still good, are
not quite as good as they used to be.
