Enjoyable, well-protected wall climbing. Start at a thin line that leads up to the break of The Smile.</br>Climb the thin line direct to the break of The Smile and move up to a good horizontal crack. Climb the fine wall above past two pegs to the top.
Steady E5 if you go the right way at the top! Much better than 1 star, only it's lack of independence makes it less than 3...
Quite easy for E5 in my opinion, good gear all the way (take extra small friends) and a goodish peg at the top (I know cos I fell 15' onto it) protects the only hard (6a) moves on the route. Several good resting places on the route make it achievable it 'little chunks' !
Nice steady climbing with good gear and good rests between the tricky bits. Worth 2 stars.
The pegs look somewhat dubious now (2009), although they are not essential anyway.
Very good climbing, but is this really harder than steady E4? Isn't it about time some of these routes got regraded?
great route but another soft tick, more like E3 than E5
